Roadways across the state of Kentucky are becoming more crowded. With so many vehicles sharing roads, car accidents become almost inevitable. These days, just going for a short drive can potentially result in a serious accident. Unfortunately, not all drivers are as focused as they should be behind the wheel. Distracted driving has become a real problem on roadways throughout the United States.

A recent accident in Pulaski County resulted in injuries to two people. The accident reportedly involved three vehicles and occurred during the morning hours at the intersection of Highway 70 and North Highway 27. According to reports, the driver of a Honda traveling west on Highway 70 pulled into the path of a northbound Chevrolet.

The ensuing collision knocked the Chevrolet into a pickup truck that was sitting in the turn lane of Highway 27.  Apparently, the driver of the Honda did not see the Chevrolet, police said. Authorities said the driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The driver of the Honda was also injured and taken to a hospital, according to authorities.

Operating a motor vehicle is a great responsibility that should never be taken for granted. Those who drive on today’s crowded and congested roadways must always remain focused and attentive to prevent car accidents. Kentucky residents who have been injured due to negligence in an accident may be able to take legal action. A successful lawsuit could provide much-needed compensation for victims and families facing mounting medical expenses and other financial losses.
