One of the most tragic and heartbreaking events in life is losing a loved one. Losing a beloved family member creates emotional and psychological scars that remain ever-present and resistant to the healing power of time. This is a difficult experience regardless of circumstances, but when the untimely death of a family member is caused by a car accident, the experience can be absolutely devastating. Tragically, car accidents are one of the leading causes of death in Kentucky and across the United States.
A recent crash near Bowling Green claimed the life of a woman. The crash occurred on Interstate 65 around mile marker 24. According to Kentucky State Police, the driver of a southbound Dodge Journey braked and slowed to an extremely slow speed. Reports say a passenger exited the vehicle and the Dodge changed course, heading north in the southbound lanes.
The Dodge then collided head-on with a Ford Mustang, police said. The driver of the Mustang suffered critical injuries in the violent collision and was rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, she died a short time later at the hospital, authorities said. Reportedly, the driver of the Dodge suffered only minor injuries.
Roadways across the state of Kentucky are becoming crowded and dangerous. Unfortunately, not all drivers are as focused as they should be behind the wheel. Families who have suffered the loss of loved ones in car accidents could benefit from discussions with a knowledgeable attorney. A successful claim could result in compensation to help families with end-of-life expenses and other financial losses.
